Voices in support of Preston Bus Station are multiplying by the day and the Society’s fight to save the building continues. Three weeks ago the World Monuments Fund accepted our bid and included the bus station in its 2012 Watch List. We nominated Preston Bus Station as one of three representatives of British Brutalism – a very special architectural style that is particularly important in Britain, but currently under threat of extinction by short-sighted prejudice and misunderstanding.

Yesterday a short video that wonderfully celebrates the ‘urban ballet’ of Preston Bus Station was posted on the web and this is a true delight! Let’s hope we can all enjoy more creative gestures like this and, most importantly, the building itself for many years to come!
