Preston Bus station: as you’ve never seen it before!

Preston Bus Station provokes all sorts of positive reactions.

In homage to this iconic piece of our heritage and prompted by the threat to demolish it, Rob Hasker has created this Lego transport hub based on the design of Preston Bus Station. We are all amazed and impressed by his skill!

The full set of photos of his work is available at:

At the Twentieth Century Society we regard it as one of the most important pieces of post-war transport interchange architecture in the country.  In order to safeguard it for future generations, we have submitted a listing application to English Heritage.

70% of the people of Preston want to keep it (according to a survey carried out by the Lancashire Evening Post earlier this month).

And for some it is the inspiration for Lego model building…

I think they made a mistake, it’s more like 7% of people in Preston who want to keep it. It’s crime ridden, and is used as a giant urinal. Thanks be to god they are going to knock it down.
