Day trip to Lichfield on 9 March

We have a few places left on our exciting full day trip to Lichfield on Saturday 9 March – no, not the medieval cathedral city but the unexpected and shocking 20th and 21st century architecture of this Staffordshire city. It will include a 1960s Catholic Church, a converted church that is now a library and community centre, a meeting with the artist John Myatt, a guided tour of the new Garrick Theatre and much more!

Our itinerary for the day is: Meet at the church of St Peter and St Paul on The Dimbles (Postcode is WS13 7NH) for a guided tour at 10.15am. Afterwards, we go into town for our tour of the Garrick Theatre at 11.30am (a suggested nearby car park is the multi-storey at Birmingham Road postcode WS13 6FA). At 12.30 we’ll meet artist John Myatt by the Boswell mosaic and, for those that wish to, have lunch at Ego at 1.30pm. The day will finish with a visit to the converted St Mary’s at 2:30 pm, but there’s lots to see in between and afterwards.

To book, please email James Phillips. Payment is by cash on the day – £5 members, £10 non-members. If you wish to join us for lunch, please state this on your booking email as I will need to send you a menu and details of where to send payment (as we have to pay for lunch up-front). We need to let the restaurant have final numbers in the next day or so, so please contact me quickly if you do want to have lunch with us.
