Rother District Council have just announced that they have received 6 million pounds to assist with the refurbishment of the De La Warr pavilion. The Heritage Lottery Fund has pledged £1.9 million and the Arts Council £4.1 million. So it looks like the extension of refurbishment proposals by John McAslan are going to be realised after all. Extensive public consultations are going to take place over the next 12 months. We are delighted that the international importance of the De La Warr pavilion has finally been recognised and adequate funding released to ensure its long term future.
