Located on the wall of 71 Holloway Street, the Southgate mural was commissioned in 1984 by the Royal Institute of British Architects and the then owner of 71 Holloway Street, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of RIBA and the Chartered Institute of Builders. It is a much-loved landmark – a witty trompe l’oeil work repainted by the artist in 2009 – which still welcomes visitors to the city.
