The church closed and ownership passed to Leeds Girls High School in 1986 and renamed the Elinor Lupton Centre. It became unoccupied in 2010 and was put up for sale in 2011. A planning application was made by J. D. Wetherspoons for use as a public house in 2015 following purchase.
