Built in two phases to the designs of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. The western portion including High Alter, the retrochoir, St Benet’s Chapel, the 1914-18 Memorial Chapel and four western crypt chapels were built 1922-24. Central tower, transepts and new nave completed 1958-61.
