C20 West Group Events Calendar 2018

C20 West Group have been making progress with their events planning for 2018. Here are some details of what is in the pipeline:

12th May 2018 – West Group AGM as part of a visit to Swindon. It is hoped to have a short AGM at the National Trust’s new headquarters building. This will be followed by a tour of the renovated Great Western Railway complex that now includes an Outlet Centre and the Steam Museum. A further coach tour of 20th century Swindon will then follow.

9th June 2018 – an exciting day when we host the C20 AGM in Bristol. The AGM will be followed by a boat trip around the 20th century developments in Bristol Harbour. Further activities are being planned for the following day for those who stay overnight to explore the city further.

September 2018 – possible joint event with South West Group starting at Clark’s in Street.

With the ultimate aim of being more pro-active in conservation the West Group have set up a register of C20 buildings of merit in our area, particularly those not listed. Members are photographing the buildings and recording key details, the South West Group are considering a similar activity and we are sharing the format of the register. In late 2018 or early 2019 we will have a members meeting at which we can all review the entries submitted.
