Pimlico Revisited Walk – Saturday 12th August led by Suzanne Waters
Between Vauxhall Bridge Road and and the River Thames are two significant examples of post-war housing. Churchill Gardens by Powell and Moya and Lillington Gardens by Darbourne and Darke. Both reflect the changing attitudes to the design of public housing from the 1940s to the 1970s and from high-rise to low-rise. We hope to have access to a house on one of the estates and will finish the walk with refreshments at a house by Peter Foggo in Cambridge Street. (Walk finishes around 1.00 pm)
