A Short History of Architectural Photography

The Robert Elwall Photographs Collection at the RIBA is one of the largest and most comprehensive of its kind in the world. It includes images of the built environment worldwide and spans the whole history of photography. This presentation highlights the Collection’s variety and scope, while introducing participants to the history of architectural photography and its role in architectural culture and practice. It features the work of many outstanding photographers such as Dell & Wainwright, Eric de Mare, Edwin Smith and John Donat, and include some of the most striking images in the Collection.
