The Twentieth Century Society

Campaigning for outstanding buildings

Lectures

Sent from Coventy with artist Paul Catherall

The virtual talk with artist Paul Catherall starts at Coventry Station and we take a meandering ‘walk’ through images of finished linocuts, reference photos and sketches for future prints of the postwar city centre. We stop off at the Bull Yard featuring the ‘Three Tuns’ William Mitchell concrete relief sculpture and ‘Precinct Shopping’ lettering, the circular Market and Coventry Point, the Gibson designed upper and lower precinct, journeying past Broadgate to the Cathedral and finally down to the Swimming Baths and the iconic ‘Elephant’. Prints of London landmarks that have been informed by my Coventry childhood such as Elephant & Castle will be included along the way.

During this event, we also launched a limited edition Paul Catherall x C20 canvas tote bag, featuring one of Paul’s favourite works: Southbank Magenta, now available to pre-order in our e-shop.

And Paul is also offering a limited time 15% discount on a selection of his works for C20 supporters. Please email info@paulcatherall.com citing the C20 Society to enquire before the end of September.
