Went along to Tate Modern last week for an event to celebrate the 80th birthday of Terence Conran (yes I know I should have written sooner). Anyway, loved the idea that TC “invented a fabulously well presented and edited version of France” for us (Stephen Bailey) and our President Fiona MacCarthy’s comment that there was “always an element of satire about Habitat” and its “somewhat spurious peasant style of living”. Also pleased to see that you can still buy a Habitat Chicken Brick (first launched 1968). Anyone ever used one?
