2019 Harry Page Photo Competition Open

The 7th Harry Page Memorial Photography Competition is now open for entries.

The competition was established in 2013 in memory of Harry Page, a passionate photographer and a keen C20 member.

This popular competition is open to C20 members only (join here).

We are looking for architectural black and white or colour pictures of a particular detail, elevation or whole building whose construction was completed from 1914 onwards.

A maximum of 10 entries per member is allowed.

Last year the award was won by Martin Gardner, with two images of recent buildings (both completed in 2016): The Quest, in Swanage by Strőm Architects, and The World Trade Centre Transportation Hub in New York (pictured above).

The closing date for entries this year is Friday 27^th December at midnight and the trophy will be presented to the winner during a C20 event at Cowcross Street in London in early 2020.

Competition Rules

1. The competition is open to C20 members only.
2. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that they have read and abided by these rules and submission guidelines.
3. All entries must be submitted digitally and may be uploaded via the dedicated C20 Society 2019 Harry Page Photography Competition Flickr webpage, To do this, please create a free Flickr account. No entries will be accepted by any other means.
4. The competition will run until Friday 27^th December 2019.
5. Images from digital cameras or camera phones can be submitted but must have been taken using a sufficiently high resolution. We recommend that you use a camera of 6 mega pixels or more and employ the highest quality setting. Images which have been scanned from transparencies or negatives are eligible. A maximum of 10 images per entrant may be submitted, either in black and white or colour.
6. Please ensure that you keep copies of submitted images. Entries may be used for C20 publicity and by entering the competition, you grant C20 licence to reproduce any image for any purpose connected with the competition.
7. All entries will be assessed by Tim Page, and his decision will be final.
8. The winner will be notified by email and the trophy presentation ceremony will be held during a C20 event at 70 Cowcross Street in London in early 2020.
9. Entries may be of any building, part of a building or architectural feature from the period covered by The Twentieth Century Society, and all entries must have been taken by the entrant.
10. By submitting entries, each entrant confirms that:

a) they are the sole author of each entry and it is their original work.

b) they own the copyright and any other intellectual rights of each image.

c) they have the prior permission of anyone visibly pictured in any image.

d) they have not licensed or disposed of any rights in any image.

e) they have received any necessary permission from the owners of buildings, if applicable.
