Church closed in 2016 under Wrexham RC Diocese pastoral review and all movable fittings removed; fixed fittings still in church including a sanctuary mural across its width, designed by Isobel Radcliffe, painted by Eleanor Brooks and a statue by Jonah Jones of our Lady in the nave and who also did an exterior cornerstone; in 2018 demolition was proposed. By 2025 church had been extended and converted to residential use.
