Rev. Stephen Frost Johnson, a master building and architect from Leigh-on Sea helped the community to build St Paul’s Church. The congregation purchased a plot of land and were shown how to make the blocks needed for construction. Once the materials were assembled the community provided a labour force to build the church in six months.
