The Simple Heart of Plywood explores the plywood furniture produced by Makers of Simple Furniture, a company founded by Gerald Summers and his wife Marjorie in 1931.
Their work was based wholly on the potential of plywood, and their catalogues feature furniture ranging from hand-cut, dove-tail jointed cabinets to armchairs formed from a single sheet. They designed desk tidies to complete interior design projects and everything in between.
