ITINERARY
10.00 – 10.30 Meet in the cafe next to the SS Great Britain for coffee etc. If driving, there is an adjacent car park off Cumberland Road/Gas Ferry Road BS1 6TY. There are toilets in the cafe.
Catch small Cross Harbour Ferry (No. 7) from near SS Great Britain to north/city centre side of harbour ( Cost 90p )
11.00 Walk to 21 Rownham Mead, Hotwells, Bristol BS8 4YA ( Tel. 0117 926 4088 ), the home of c20 members Professor Chris Holloway and his wife Immy. They have kindly offered to give us coffee and a short talk about their collection of c20 furniture, paintings and glass etc.
12.15 Leave 21 Rownham Mead for short walk to the recently refurbished Underfall Yard for lunch.
After a look around and lunch walk back to the SS Great Britain or catch the ferry boat ( No. 7 ) back to the SS Great Britain – or stay on the ferry boat back to the Arnolfini Art Gallery and/or the Architecture Centre for visits during the afternoon. Tea and toilets available in the Arnolfini.The exhibition at the Arnolfini will show the work of Daphne Wright entitled “ Emotional Archaeology”. The exhibition at the Architecture Centre is “Place, Time and Architecture in Bristol. 20 years of people and places in Bristol”. Numbers for the event are limited to 15. There is a charge of £5 per person to enable the c20 West Group to build up a fund for future expences and visits.
