Could there be a greater contrast in the appearance of two piers than the slender Victorian Grade I listed Clevedon Pier and the rebuilt Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare?
C20 members are invited to compare the two when the West Group organises an event on Sunday 22 May to visit both piers and also hold its first AGM.
The plan is to start the day at 11am by meeting in the new c20 visitor centre on Clevedon Pier for coffee, etc. and to hear brief talks from the Chairman of the Pier Trustees and the architect of the new visitor centre.
Following the talks and an inspection of the pier members will meet again at the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare at 2pm.
Again there will be refreshments and an introduction from one of the owners of the Grand Pier. One of the architects of the rebuilt pier will then talk about the challenges they faced after the disastrous fire in 2008.
The event will culminate with the first AGM of the C20 West Group.
For further details of the event, please see below:

Please note that numbers for the visit to Clevedon Pier will be limited to a maximum of 30, due to the size of the meeting room in the visitor centre.
