Visit to Fawley Power Station

Monday 16th October, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
An unrepeatable experience!

As you will be aware, we have had our eye on developments here for some time. There are plans afoot to build over 1000 houses on the site – a listing application having been turned down by Historic England several years ago.

The site was C20 Society Building of the Month in 2015.

The development proposals will be subject to a Public Consultation process at the end of September and details of this will be forwarded when available.

We have been lucky to secure agreement to visit the site on 16th October. We will be able to go inside the fabulous Control Room and Administration buildings, but not the Turbine Hall which is currently being stripped of fittings.

We will also learn about the current development proposals. The owners have plans to retain the chimney but the other buildings
future is uncertain.

£5 charge payable on the day. Meet at the site at 1:00 pm.
Lifts/pick ups may be possible especially from Southampton Airport or Eastleigh stations – please enquire.

Booking is now open to members, and spaces are limited so please email Pauline to reserve your spot! paulinemousley@btinternet.com
