The mural was formed from 13 bespoke panels carved by Mitchell and filled with polyester resin. It was installed in a community hall on the Brooklands Park Estate, a post-war housing scheme built 1955-58, but came under threat with plans to demolish the hall for new social housing. Campaigning by local residents, support from C20 Society and crucial funding and project management from the Heritage of London Trust led to its conservation and relocation in 2026 to a new location 250m away in the main hall of Brooklands Primary School.
