C20 AGM

The 2011 C20 AGM will be held in the Marx Memorial Library in Clerkenwell on Wednesday 22nd June at 6.30pm.

Each year the Society aims to hold its AGM in a venue with particular C20 interest. Despite dating back to 1737, when it was built as the Welsh Charity School, this year’s building was rebuilt in 1968-9, and has housed the Marx Memorial Library since 1933. The meeting will give an opportunity to see the Grade II mural by Viscount Hastings: ‘The Worker of the Future upsetting the Economic Chaos of the Present’ – rather apposite in the current economic climate.

The Library is at 37a Clerkenwell Green, London EC1R 0DU (5 mins from Farringdon Station, and the meeting will start at 6.30pm, with drinks afterwards. The full agenda follows:

TWO NEW TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP 

(1) Corporate Benefactor 

(2) Associate (for campaigning organisations) 

CHANGE IN MEMBERSHIP NAME 

(1) Affiliate (non profit making) to Library Rate 

(2) Affiliate (Corporate) to Corporate 

MEMBERSHIP RATES 

that membership rates are increased from 1 January 2012  to: 

(1) Ordinary (individual) £40 

(2) Household (up to two adults and two children under 18 years) £60 

(3) Library Rate £100 

(4) Corporate £200 

(5) Life £1,500 

(6) Concessionary £25 

(Full time students over 18 years, pensioners, unemployed, 

registered disabled) 

(7) Benefactor £275 

(8) Corporate benefactor £350 

(9) Associate free 

In addition it is proposed that new members who join after September 31 in 

any given year and who pay by direct debit will receive membership valid for 

the remaining part of that year and the next year as well. 

REAPPOINTMENT  OF AUDITORS 

a. that the auditors, Andrew Thurburn & Co, be reappointed 

DIRECTORS ELECTION  

Under paragraph 24 of the Articles of Association – at each

subsequent AGM one-third of the Directors must retire from office

each year –
