Our 2012 events programme is in full swing. In March Elain Harwood will be showing slides on India, Pete Smith will be talking about The Motor Car and the Country House, and there are walks on London’s South Bank and around Westminster’s architecture of parking, with many more trips and visits to follow, including weekends in Dundee and Sheffield.
Our 2012 events programme is now getting into full swing. The Britain and the Bauhaus lecture series has started and includes Peter Ahrends talking about his father’s and grandfather’s work in Berlin, and Susie Harries on Pevsner’s Pioneers of Modern Design. Elain Harwood will be showing her slides of trips to India, and Pete Smith talking about The Motor Car and the Country House. Ian McInnes will also follow the motoring theme in his walk round the architecture of parking in Westminster. There is an introductory London walk especially for new members on 10 March, plus a wide range of walks and trips to see C20 buildings in places far afield as Dundee and Somerset. Read full details of the events here.
This year’s AGM will take place in Sheffield over the weekend of 26/27 May, and the weekend will include visits to the David Mellor factory, churches by Basil Spence and others, Park Hill, Sheffield University and possibly a private house by David Guest.
The lecture series and some walks are open to all, but many of our trips are restricted to members due to high demand. If you are not yet a member, you can join here. We hope to see you at some of these events.
