The Society’s vital work is only possible thanks to the generous support of our C20 Patrons – a network of architects, developers, non-profits, national bodies, media organisations, businesses and brands who share our belief that twentieth and twenty-first century heritage is a unique and integral part of Britain’s rich and varied landscape.
Their support directly funds our small casework team, who’ve tackled more than 6,000 cases in the past year alone. As a small charity, this financial lifeline helps us to save more outstanding buildings and lead public debate on the built-heritage of the future, while advancing environmental arguments and championing grassroots community solutions.
In return, a package of exclusive benefits can be produced to fit with the objectives of your organisation. Including CPD learning opportunities for staff, enabling career development for young people, special access to events, targeted sponsorship and brand awareness.
With the support of our Patrons, there are three strands of C20’s work that we’re particularly keen to develop, leaving a tangible legacy beyond the buildings and design we campaign for:
Young Caseworkers: Helping to train the next generation of talent in the heritage and conservation sector, with a placement or bursary scheme. Removing barriers to those from backgrounds who may be less able to find an opening to work in the sector.
New Writers: Commissioning new and emerging voices to contribute to the Society’s respected publications, offering opportunities for creative talent to flourish as we continue to set the agenda for modern heritage in the built environment.
Underrepresented Heritage: Widening the scope of our research to better define ‘what is the heritage of the future?’ and to include new areas of study and education. Alighting on themes that resonate with broad audiences, examining social history and unrepresented heritage.
Our basic levels of support are outlined in the Patron Programme below.

Please note: In the event of a proposal or a building by a Patron member coming before our Caseworkers or Casework Committee, that proposal or building shall be treated the same as that from any other source. Membership of the Society does not confer any preferential status; our casework will always be rigorous and impartial.
