Based on the drawings of local schoolchildren, and painted by local artist Christine Constant, these murals depict the Venerable Bede and the famous Jarrow Crusade. Colourful and dynamic work, this kind of mural and the way it was collaboratively made was to become increasingly popular in the late 20th century.
