Anderson’s semi-abstract mural at the entrance to the The Rainbow Slides Pool (The Provost’s Pool), Goosecroft Road, was a powerful and attractive artwork made of precast concrete panels. Similar in shape to the Burnley Thompson Centre mural, it demonstrated the impact such artwork can have on a bare and functional construction. The Glasgow School of Art graduate Anderson has successfully worked for 30 years as a muralist, carrying major commissions for local authorities and large companies.
The Rainbow Slides Pool was closed for structural reasons but just prior to its demolition in 2014, the concrete mural panels were relocated by the construction company originally responsible for the centre, Ogilvie Construction, and re-erected at their headquarters building in the Glasgow Road in full view of the public highway.
